The project was born from the idea of bringing a real-life object into the 3D world. I modeled a rustic pocket knife using Sculpting mode in Blender, carefully following the original grooves to convey depth and realism. To optimize the mesh and avoid excessive polygons, I complemented the details with normal maps.
The textures were created from the actual physical knife: I photographed the piece in high quality and applied the technique of image-based texturing, layering and adjusting the photo onto the 3D model. This process ensured greenish tones faithful to the original object and added realism without compromising performance. The result is a digital piece that preserves the rusticity and authenticity of the real knife
